Q. What is a Bare Boat Charter?
A. This is where you & your family / friends take the boat & sail it yourself within the bay areas allowed for charter sailing. You need to have sailing experience & of course you are given instruction prior to departure. Our skipper gets you out of the marina & meets you on your return to park you safely back in the marina. You check in by mobile phone each day & if any questions arise.

Q. I have power boat experience can I bareboat?
A. Millennium Cat has dual Honda 20Hp engines so if you have a marine boat licence you can drive it everywhere you want to go & take your time to learn how to operate the sails. Lessons on board are available at an extra charge to get you up to speed.

Q. Do I need a marine power boat licence to bareboat charter?
A. If you have sailing experience you don't need a licence but of course you do need to understand the marine navigation rules.

Q. What do I do if I have no experience?
A. You can still charter but you will need our Skipper on board for at least the first day to learn some sailing skills & how to operate Millennium Cat. It's not that hard & many people start off as novices & soon become regular charterers & dab hands at sailing. Extra charges apply for our Skipper. He will anchor you up safely at days end & be picked up, leaving you to enjoy the night at anchor. Alternatively, you can return to the marina & then go out again the next day

Q. Can we share the Bareboat Charter with family or friends
A. Sharing is a wonderful way to have fun together & reduce the expenses for everyone. The boat is licenced for 12 persons overnight,  or up to 20 people (+ 2 crew) for Skippered Day trips. We do many day excursions where you just sit back & enjoy yourselves. Prices are quoted on individual requirements.

Q. I have sailing experience, where can I go?
A. With a reasonable level of experience & enough time available with your choice of charter, you can go between Tangalooma at Moreton Island and as far South as Surfers Paradise. You don't have to go far to have a great time or a good sail.

Q. I'm not familiar with Moreton Bay, how will I know where to go?
A. Millennium Cat is equiped with GPS with all local bay maps, there are also all the charts for Moreton Bay & Qld Beacon to Beacon Guide onboard. Our staff will also advise you of some great places to visit & how to get there.
